Terms of Service
By messaging the bot, you agree to these terms. If you don't, don't message it.
1. What the service is
Assista.bot is a personal assistant reached over WhatsApp. You send it messages in plain language — text, voice notes or photos — and it keeps lists, sets reminders, manages calendar events if you connect a calendar, and remembers things you ask it to remember.
It is operated as a small personal project, not a commercial product with a support organisation behind it. That shapes everything below.
2. Access
Access is by invitation. The bot only responds to phone numbers explicitly added to its access list; everything else is rejected. Access may be withdrawn at any time, for any reason, without notice.
3. What you may not do
- Use it for anything unlawful, or to store or process unlawful content.
- Attempt to reach another user's data, or to interfere with the service, its rate limits or its safeguards.
- Submit content on behalf of someone who has not agreed to this — including sending another person's personal information for the bot to store.
- Resell or expose the service to others without permission.
4. Your content
What you send stays yours. You grant only the permission needed to operate the service: to store what you asked to be stored, and to send content to the processors listed in the Privacy Policy so the bot can act on it.
You are responsible for what you choose to send. Consider carefully before sending anything highly sensitive — health information, financial details, credentials — because message content is processed by a third-party AI service in order to work at all.
5. Artificial intelligence, and being wrong
Requests are interpreted by a large language model. It will sometimes misunderstand you, make an incorrect assumption about a time or a name, or act on a request differently from how you intended.
Check anything that matters. The bot states back what it did — a time, a date, a list name — precisely so mistakes are catchable. Read those confirmations.
6. No guarantee of delivery — read this one
Do not rely on this service for anything critical, time-sensitive or safety-related.
Reminders and the daily briefing are delivered through WhatsApp, which imposes rules about when an automated service may message you. Delivery depends on Meta, on Google, on Amazon Web Services, and on the correctness of a personal project. Reminders may arrive late, or not at all.
It is not a medical reminder system, an emergency service, or a substitute for any tool you would be harmed by losing. Do not use it for medication, legal deadlines, or anything where a missed message causes real damage.
7. Availability
The service is provided as is and as available, with no guarantee of uptime, accuracy, or continuity. It may change, break, or be discontinued at any time, without notice. Maintenance may interrupt it. Features may be removed.
8. Disclaimer and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits, opportunity, or anything arising from a missed, late or incorrect message. Where the law permits a limit, the operator's total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the fees you paid for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or ILS 100.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Third-party services
The service depends on WhatsApp (Meta), Anthropic, Amazon Web Services, Google and Open-Meteo. Their terms apply to their parts, and their failures are not within the operator's control.
10. Ending it
Stop messaging the bot at any time; you may ask for your data to be deleted under §7 of the Privacy Policy. The operator may suspend or end access at any time, including by removing your number from the access list.
11. Changes
These terms may change. Material changes will be published here with a new date and notified through the bot before taking effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to the service. Nothing in this section removes any mandatory consumer protection you have under the law of the country you live in.
